1) Last Military Leave by BEYOND CLOSET

Video by Jimin Park

Fashion is always about being ahead of the trend. Therefore, during the most recent Seoul Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week, my favorite Korean menswear designer Tae Yong Ko has already released his collection for the upcoming fall and winter. His brand, Beyond Closet named the F/W collection as L.M.L (Last Military Leave) since the collection was inspired from his military days in the Korean Marines. The collection which blends military staples with more relaxed dressing took the soldiers on leave as the biggest inspiration. Combining this with the trend of street-wear, this genius young designer managed to balance order with the sense of freedom by renovating the traditional uniform silhouettes in updated camouflages and hip-hop graffiti patterns.

My heart throbbed in amazement when I first saw this collection since I'm always a big fan of soldier-inspired fashion. I guess it's because my father was an army so the genetic factor influenced the strong inner army in my soul (well I guess those kind of things also carried by the genes). Anyway, the unique style of clothes that resembles soldier uniforms never failed to catch my attention. The amazing camouflage patterns, shiny studs, military staples and boots are the new spices in town for the fashion recipe. These small insignificant parts of military uniforms are taking the clothes into a whole new level when infused with the ordinary street-wear. Now who says that them soldiers aren't fashionable? They have the most sought-after fashion items in their closet without even realizing it! In my personal opinion, the military style becomes the popular choice of lots of designers nowadays because this style looks very dapper, neat and masculine which are the most important characteristics for a menswear. I would love to don this style on the upcoming fall and winter because of that characteristics, besides the clothes from the collection looks very comfy and warm. The winter outfits which are in the latest trend, warm and comfy. What more can be asked for?

2) Philipp Plein is Turning Everybody Into A Royal

Skip to 4:03 for the runway without intro gimmick.

The well-known German designer Philipp Plein are back with his exquisite menswear collection for the Spring Summer 2015 Fashion Show held grandly at the Milan's Fascist-Era Caimi swimming pool. He who is known well for his unique taste of euro, rock and bon vivant style amazed the audiences of the fashion show when his handsome male models strode out of the swimming pool runway donning classic crew club-striped, ribbed sweaters that were tucked discreetly under fitted blazers and juxtaposed with thrasher jeans. He made it as if an East Coast country club boy and his hip hop black sheep twin mashed their wardrobes together by stitching golden marine patches indiscriminately all over the shorts and pant suits, as well as indigo denim shirts. It was indeed a refreshing combination of the marine world and gangsta style. Here are my personal favorites of the collection:

Honestly speaking, this collection is my favorite S/S collection so far. The outfits are so elegant and chic! I've told that I adore military fashion so much in the previous article, well Philipp Plein heard my wish so he made this for me (I'm joking). By the way, the main point of the collection that caught my attention the most is of course the golden marine patches. They look freaking good on navy blue, white and black clothes! The patches made the clothes look like they were only for the royals. Intoxicatingly luxurious. I would love to don one of this collection next spring if it isn't too pricey.

3) Going Nude Next Year With Calvin Klein

Video by Fashion Channel

Italo Zucchelli's trademark is of course the usage of latest high tech fabrics in his menswear. He has proved that he is still an emperor of the fashion world when he produced "performance" jersey tank tops and stretch tech cotton slim pant for the Spring/Summer 2015 collection. He spiced up the collection by adding bomber jackets, pullovers and blouson tops in PVC in high octane hues. Here are my personal favorites of the collection:

The referred article might say quite negative things about this collection; how inappropriate it is to use materials like PVC during sweltering spring and summer. Well I couldn't agree more about that, but those outfits in nude color are real eye candies. Nude color won't ever go wrong in fashion industry since the color is so basic and natural. This color also has the mysterious power that can make a short people like me to look taller. It is like a camouflage for us petite people. Well for that aspect, I have no choice but giving this collection a very high score. Yes they may put the ridiculous PVCs inside it but the designer also produced the nude outfits without them too.
