Hello guys! For the video project of my English class I am required to film a video about something fun and exciting that I do here in South Korea.

Today I’m here in Dongyang Mirae University not only to hang out with my Malaysian friends studying in this university, neither to take another summer course.

Nah~

But I’m here today for the Bazaar Ramadhan organized by the Malaysians in South Korea.

Ok for those of you who don’t know what Ramadhan is, Ramadhan is actually the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, and during this month the Muslims worldwide are fasting from dawn to dusk. No foods, no drinks, no sex, no smoking during the day. Yes I have been fasting and eat nothing since 3am today but I’m still as strong as Hulk. Urrghhh!!

Wait, what?

*Awkward* Yeah, you know? Hulk. Strong… He’s strong, big… Yeah….

So! We treat this fasting month as a time to train ourselves to control our lusts and desire, besides making ourselves closer to our God by praying more and reciting the Quran more frequently etc. etc. etc.

To make it simple, it is a month for us to get rid of the bad behaviour, to come clean, start over a new leaf and to transform into a good, new person. How cool is that?

Let’s get back to the point. Bazaar Ramadhan is actually the name of the evening markets in Malaysia during the month of Ramadhan, and these markets usually sell delicious foods, beverages and desserts for the breaking fast meal during the dusk.

Since we’re abroad, the Malaysian Embassy cooperated with the Malaysian Students Association here in South Korea to bring the culture to Korea so we can taste the delicious traditional foods, besides we can break the fast together as a big family. Well I can’t cook, so I’m obviously here as a customer.

Take my money, give me foods!

During this event, the students have the opportunity to make some money by opening their own stalls and sell their homemade foods.

The Bazaar is held here in Dongyang Mirae University because we have the largest Malaysian students’ community in this university.

So let’s have a look at the event!

So that’s all for the adventure today! I hope you enjoy watching it. Have a nice day. Bye bye!
